Map Admin Shares with the built-in administrator account<br \/>\n2. LocalAccountTokenFilterPolicy \u2013 UAC remote restrictions<\/p>\n<p>To get rid of the Access Denied message, follow this procedure:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Launch the Registry editor by typing regedit.exe in the Start Screen.<\/li>\n<li>Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Policies\\System.<\/li>\n<li>Create a new entry by right-clicking <b>System<\/b> and then selecting <b>DWORD (32-bit) Value<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>Choose LocalAccountTokenFilterPolicy as name for the new entry.<\/li>\n<li>Set the value of LocalAccountTokenFilterPolicy to 1 by right-clicking the new entry.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>3. Disable UAC Admin Approval mode<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note: Disabling\u00a0UAC Admin Approval mode will also disable the Windows Store app.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Launch <b>Control Panel<\/b>, type <b>admin\u2026<\/b> in the search box, and then click <b>Administrative Tools<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>Open the Local Security Policy application.<\/li>\n<li>Navigate to Local Policies &gt; Security Options.<\/li>\n<li>Disable the policy <b>User Account Control: Run all administrators in Admin Approval Mode<\/b>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Note: For Windows 11<br \/>\nIf you want to configure auto-login, then you need to disable the \u201conly allow Windows Hello sign-in\u201d option using the following steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Click Start, Settings, and click Accounts.<\/li>\n<li>Click on Sign-in options<\/li>\n<li>Turn off the radio button under the <strong>Require Windows Hello sign-in for Microsoft accounts<\/strong> section.\n<div class=\"newline\">The description \u201c<em>For improved security, only allow Windows Hello sign-in for Microsoft accounts on this device (Recommended)<\/em>\u201d is self-explanatory.<\/div>\n<div class=\"newline\"><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div class=\"newline\"><strong>NOTE:<\/strong> The <strong>Require Windows Hello sign-in for Microsoft accounts<\/strong> option would be missing if no Microsoft accounts are configured on the computer.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"qt\">\n<p>Registry Editing<br \/>\nHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows NT\\CurrentVersion\\PasswordLess\\Device<\/p>\n<p>Value name:<br \/>\nDevicePasswordLessBuildVersion<\/p>\n<p>Data:<code><br \/>\n0<\/code> means Require Windows Hello sign-in is disabled<code><br \/>\n2<\/code> means Require Windows Hello sign-in is enabled<\/p>\n<p>Deleting <code>DevicePasswordLessBuildVersion<\/code> or setting it to <code>0<\/code> would enable the \u201cUsers must enter a user name and password to use this computer\u201d checkbox.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"ezoic-pub-ad-placeholder-148\" data-inserter-version=\"2\"><\/span>After disabling the above setting, close and reopen the User Accounts dialog by running <code>netplwiz.exe<\/code> or <code>control userpasswords2<\/code><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>source:<br \/>\n&#8211; https:\/\/4sysops.com\/archives\/access-denied-to-administrative-admin-shares-in-windows-8\/<br \/>\n&#8211; https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/users-must-enter-a-user-name-and-password-to-use-this-computer-missing-windows-10\/<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>3 ways to fix: 1.
